make a big stick and theyll have the head proggy at TCI fly out and program it for you and write it up as R+D time. at no charge to you, of course

Im done messing with te 4L80e, Already spoke to art carr, they are going to build me another 4L60e and get a stronger triple disc converter out to me.
problems with the 4L80e are
part throttle shifting STILL isnt right after many attemps from TCI to tune it.
WOT shifting is not happening correctly no matter what shift RPM i enter.
Horrible vibrations under hard acceleration and decell above 70 mph most likely due to the pinion angle changing withthe 4L80e as well as possible flexing under hard load of the fabricated crossmember
-there is no speedometer output for my dash from the TCI unit
- my car sounds like a truck with the howling of the 4L80e tranny
-the stall converter was supposed to be loser and higher stalling then my old one but its actually so tight it feel like the STOCK converter did.
I dont care anymore, im going back to my 4L60. Im done with the 480

yep... getting the junk together
im gonna take a good chunk out tomorrow...
i had to grind a bit off of the rod bolts, and some into the rods themselves.
which do you usually end up grinding with the stroker/roller engines?
it looks like i should be alright with 1, 2, 5, and 6...
i hope im not sacraficing the integrity of the rods/bolts or throwing off the balance too much

damn sorry to hear that taz....
wanted to see you run it with the 4l80e...
I just dont think 60s have the balls to hold out the power you make....
I got a bulletproof motor now, and i was thinking.... i dont think a built tranny can handle 650+ tq for a while which is what i'm assuming to make...
i thought bout a 80 as well, but thats money, and especially not after what you went through, and i want my overdrive so no th400 either.... and i would prefer to stay with an auto and not a t56 so that i can keep boosting through gears....
decisions decisions =/
oh well, i hope that new 60e will work without fail for you, cuz i have a feeling i'll be taking ur footsetps on the tranny lol

well my 4L60e from art carr didnt break, it was the single dicsc converter that blew its internals to shreds. Art Carr said they have numerous cars making 750 flywheel horsepower running their 4L60e's without problems. I learned the hard way that locking up 2nd gear on the spray will KILL a single disc converter. SO Art Carr is takign care of me and sending me another 4L60e with a triple disc lock up converter.
The 4L80E was a BAD idea and I would never recomend it to anyone. Thankfully Im getting my money back on teh 4L80e.
